Our commitment to innovation, training and sound pig management has Rattlerow earned three nominations in this year’s National Pig Awards.

We’ve been placed shortlisted in three categories: The Investor in Training Award, Technical Innovation of the Year, and the Outdoor Producer of the Year award with our outdoor production manager John Theobald named as a finalist.

“We are delighted to have been nominated and hearing that we have qualified for the final judging stages of three awards is great news. Such recognition reflects the diversity of our business and its commitment to the UK pig industry. We are very proud of our team,” said Robert Lawson Rattlerow’s joint managing director.

The company has supported the National Pig Awards since their inception in 2014 and continues to sponsor the Producer Retailer category, which attracts a diverse range of entries.

Among this year’s finalists are:

  • Cornish Charcuterie which produces artisan pork products and speciality foods from their own traditional breeds at Norton Barton Farm, near Bude, Cornwall
  • Stepney Hill Farm, a family farming, butchery, retail and catering/ business near Scarborough, North Yorkshire
  • Primrose Herd, also based in Cornwall producing outdoor reared fresh pork, bacon, gammon, hams, sausages and more from its own herd of mixed breed pigs.

The National Pig Awards will be presented at a gala dinner in London on 9 November 2016.
