An undergraduate at Harper Adams University, he was presented with his 2015/16 scholarship by Simon Guise, Rattlerow’s UK Sales Manager, during HAU’s recent annual presentation day.
A keen rugby player, Adam hales from a farming family in East Yorkshire, but his Rattlerow/ BPEX scholarship, will be his first experience of modern, commercial pig production.
Starting in July 2015, the scholarship fulfils a year’s industry work-placement, which is an integral part of his foundation degree course in Agriculture.

Diverse experience planned
“We are delighted to be a BPEX Scholarship sponsor and are really looking forward to hosting Adam. As a company, we have always made a huge commitment to training and career progression and believe this scholarship offers undergraduates a unique learning experience plus an insight into the pig sector and the many opportunities it offers,” said Mr Guise.

Adam will be involved with all aspects of Rattlerow Farm’s diverse agri-business, beginning with the arable team where he will be involved with harvest operations and the new biogas plant. This will be followed by experience within the pig breeding and genetics division and the company’s own substantial commercial pigmeat production operation.
