A team of Rattlerow staff will be pulling on their climbing boots this June to take on the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The team of 12, from across our business, is taking up this high-altitude endurance test on 25 and 26 June 2016, which involves scaling three of the UK’s highest peaks – Ben Nevis in Scotland, Mount Snowdon in Wales and Scafell Pike in the Lake District – in just 24 hours.
Our ‘climbers’ have set themselves a target to raise £5,300 – the cost of running EACH’s services across Suffolk and North Essex for a 24-hour period. And every penny raised will go towards this very worthwhile cause.
Team leader Simon Guise, UK Sales Manager, says although some of the group have climbed one of the peaks before, no one has ever taken on a challenge like this before.
“We’re all now putting in a lot of hours training to ensure we’re as ready as we can be by the 25 June. The biggest challenge will be the lack of sleep, as the only time we’ll have to rest will be in the minibus as we drive between the three mountains,” he added.
Rattlerow are delighted to be supporting EACH and is hoping its staff, suppliers, customers, the pig industry and the local community will get behind its fundraising efforts.
Gemma Smith, EACH Corporate Fundraiser, recently visited the company’s Stradbroke HQ to thank the Three Peak’s team.
She said EACH was thrilled that Rattlerow had chosen to support the charity, who’s patron is the HRH the Duchess of Cambridge.
“These guys will be giving up an enormous amount of their free time to fit their training around work commitments and we wish them all the luck in the world – both for the challenge itself and as they work towards their incredible fundraising target,” she said.
The money raised through this challenge will be used to fund the vital care and support that EACH offers to children and young people and their families when faced with life-threatening conditions.
